Global Entrepreneurship Week is a celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare. During one week each November annually, GEW inspires people everywhere to explore their potential as self-starters and innovators.
In celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week, KBA Africa will profile one entrepreneur per day on our website. Check out www.kbaafrica.com daily to see who the featured entrepreneur is.
Barnabas Marambire is the Founder of Barmlo Investments, a Building Contractor and owner of a hardware store.
Barnabas Marambire (34), a young entrepreneur, who at failing to find a funder for his ‘A’ Level education, decided to leave and look for odd jobs in the Construction industry in South Africa. While working there, he got an awakening that he could create more value by starting a construction company back home in his own country.
With this new focus he started saving and by 2011, he invested his savings worth $ 4 500 into a business idea which he nursed from humble beginnings. His business is now worth over $ 500 000.
The holding company consists of Hardware Stores, with three branches in Mberengwa, Zvishavane and Filabusi and a Construction company; all of which employ up to 103 people during peak seasons.
Through the construction company, several Zvishavane residents are now proud home owners courtesy of the Barmlo’s Build On Credit Scheme.
